Bioenergetic Analysis – Rendezvous with your Self
A grounded body is one that is energetically rooted in the deepest layers of one’s Self. Awareness of this rooted connection and access to the deepest Self, which contains the beautiful essence of the person, can function as a healing resource in psychotherapy. A disconnection with the deepest Self can be the reason for energetic breakdowns, depressive crises, the feeling of being overwhelmed even after many years of psychotherapy. The underlying problem is often a matter of traumatic experiences very early in life, which has to be understood and which will be explained initially at a cognitive level. On a body level we will find tension in different kinds of tissue, which can reflect a conflict between the desire for love and contact and the fear of letting love in. In the healing process we need to release tension and melt the sense of separation we feel within ourselves and between ourselves and others.
Bioenergetic Analysis is an analytic- relational form of bodyoriented psychotherapy, developed by Alexander Lowen, based upon the unity of body and mind. The therapeutic goal is vibrant health – aliveness, pleasure, joy and love. This workshop will also convey basic bioenergetic principles like grounding, vibration, breathing, charge- discharge, containment. At first I’ll make some time available for creating a harmonious group atmosphere. The idea is providing a safe basement for participants, that they can risk entering their own uncertain territory. According to different character structures I will demonstrate through individual work how to invite deeper parts of the Self to be touched again. Therefore a wide range of bodily interventions, from tender touch to powerful hands on interventions can be applied. The person, who is in focus, can ideally make a correcting experience for dysfunctional patterns of communication, also on a body level. The other participants can, by their attentiveness, emotional involvement and empathic feedback, symbolically act as a supportive mother.
